WHAT WE ARE - WHAT WE DO

Dubuque Builders Exchange was organized to become the voice of the construction industry in the areas which we serve. We promote a spirit of cooperation and a good will among our members and among those participating in, or interested in the construction industry. We cooperate with other groups, associations, or professional societies who were formed for like purposes. We advise our membership of new developments in the Construction Update and through securing of plans and specifications of new and proposed work.

The Dubuque Builders Exchange is an association of those who are identified with the building industry in all it’s phases. Our members build every type of commercial, industrial, institutional, residential and public building; they sell building materials, fixtures, machinery and equipment for every type of construction; they furnish surety bonds, mortgage loans, financing and insurance for every construction activity. We are an association dedicated to the improvement and betterment of the construction industry as a whole.

The Dubuque Builders Exchange is housed at 197 Main Street and is designed to accommodate the needs of all the members. Our hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. We have a large estimating room with individual booths for your use in preparing estimates.

We furnish suppliers and sub-contractors with a list of the prime contractors bidding each project. We maintain a list of sub-contractors and suppliers for the prime contractor.

We publish The Construction Update weekly, which is sent over a four state area to keep our membership informed of plans and specifications available for bid. The Construction Update also contains information of the location and type of project, name of the design firm or agency, firms bidding, addenda, tabulation of bid awards, construction news, announcements and other items of interest to the construction industry.
